Dingle Whiskey Distillery Batch 4 Irish Single Malt, $83.99

Dingle is one of the most beautiful places on planet Earth and nestled right on the shoreline in the town of Dingle itself is the Dingle Whiskey Distillery. This distillery produces some of the finest whiskey in all of Ireland. Their core whiskey is an ever changing batch-to-batch single malt that has been triple pot distilled and aged in a variety of casks. And that casking is what changes each batch. This batch, number four, has been aged in bourbon, port, and sherry barrels and then blended to taste. If you ever have a chance to visit Ireland, Dingle is the most vital place to visit. This whiskey absolutely encapsulates the beauty of the land and the people perfectly. It truly is the spirit of Dingle.

Ohishi Sakura Cask Japanese Rice Whisky, $77.99

The Ohishi distillery is located near the village of Mizukami in the Kumamoto prefecture of Japan. Sixth-generation distiller Kazunori Ohishi is an artist. I have yet to have anything from the Ohishi Distillery that isn't world class. Ohishi elevates what can be done with a rice spirit. They draw their four varietals of rice from their village of Mizukami, 30% of this rice is grown on Ohishi's own land. Ohishi’s whiskies are all made from 100% rice; a portion of which is koji-kame, or infected with koji — a beneficial fungus used in sake production.

This particular release is a blend of their brandy and sherry casked whiskies that has been further aged for nine months in Japanese cherrywood casks.
